New Tower for Hale Village
Lee Valley Estates has completed an £18.2m deal with residential developer, Anthology that will create 250 new homes and 9,500 sq.ft. of commercial space in an elegant landmark tower in Hale Village. The sale of the land to Anthology is the final component of the Village’s eleven phase development which started in 2007.
Commenting on the deal, Michael Polledri, Chairman, said “Anthology are absolutely the right people to provide this tall, elegant tower, which will be a landmark crown jewel in Hale Village and Tottenham generally.
“This penultimate piece of the Hale Village jigsaw is a significant moment for us. We’re extremely proud of what has been achieved over the past nine years. With our partners, we’ve created a multi-award winning urban village that is playing a key role in the regeneration of Tottenham. We’ll be staying very involved as we retain the freehold ground rents, parking and commercial space and will continue to operate and manage the entire Village.”
Anthology is backed by Investment company Oaktree and it will work in association with the GLA and Haringey Council on the development. Planning is likely to be submitted mid-2017.
Hale Village has been voted one of the top 30 best regeneration projects in the UK and the most Innovative Affordable Housing Scheme. This year it was highly commended in the Placemaking Awards, Mixed Use Brownfield Site category and was also presented with the prestigious Green Flag Award, the mark of a quality green space.
Last month Hale Village won Gold and was announced as overall winner in the London in Bloom 2016 Awards, London Village category. Judges said it “could be the envy of any major European City.”
